Four Dallas-Fort Worth suburbs are among the country's fastest-growing and most affordable, according to a recent report. The report, from realtor.com, analyzed data from the past year to identify the top 100 fastest-growing suburbs in the U.S. The suburbs were ranked based on their population growth, median home price, and median household income.
The four DFW suburbs that made the list are:
- Frisco
- McKinney
- Plano
- Allen
Frisco was ranked as the 10th fastest-growing suburb in the country, with a population growth of 10.2% over the past year. McKinney was ranked 16th, with a population growth of 8.7%. Plano was ranked 20th, with a population growth of 7.9%. Allen was ranked 25th, with a population growth of 7.5%.
In addition to being among the fastest-growing suburbs in the country, the four DFW suburbs are also among the most affordable. The median home price in Frisco is $449,900, which is below the national median of $454,900. The median home price in McKinney is $399,900, which is also below the national median. The median home price in Plano is $474,900, which is slightly above the national median. The median home price in Allen is $469,900, which is also slightly above the national median.
The combination of strong population growth and affordability is making the four DFW suburbs a popular destination for homebuyers. In fact, realtor.com predicts that the Dallas-Fort Worth area will be one of the hottest housing markets in the country in 2023.
