Pete Carroll Returning to USC in New Capacity
Former Trojans Head Coach to Teach Class in Spring
Carroll's Return Marks New Chapter After NFL Retirement
Former USC football head coach Pete Carroll is set to return to the university in a new capacity, teaching a class in the spring. Carroll made the announcement on KJR-FM Tuesday, marking a new chapter in his storied career. From 2001 to 2009, Carroll led the Trojans to an undefeated national championship in 2004 and seven Pac-10 Conference titles. He left USC to coach the Seattle Seahawks in the NFL, where he won a Super Bowl in 2013. Carroll retired from coaching in 2022, but he will now return to USC where he served as head coach from 2001-2009. Fourteen years after he left USC to coach in the NFL, Carroll is returning to teach during the spring semester. There has been no indication that Carroll will formally retire from coaching.
