Eriksen On Target For Denmark But Slovenia Hold Euro 2024 Bidders

Eriksen Who Suffered A Cardiac Arrest At Last Euros Opens Scoring Janza Levels For Slovenia

European Championship 2024 bound Denmark were held to a 1-1 draw in Slovenia by a Janza inspired performance on Thursday. The result leaves Denmark with 11 points from five games in Group F, while Slovenia have seven points from the same number of matches. Christian Eriksen, who scored Denmark's first goal in their opening match of the Euros, gave the Danes an early lead in Ljubljana. However, Slovenia hit back through Andraz Sporar before the break and then held on to a well-deserved point.

The visitors, who had won their previous four matches in the group, started the game brightly and Eriksen fired them into the lead in the 13th minute. The Manchester United midfielder collected a pass from Andreas Skov Olsen and drove a low shot into the bottom corner.

Slovenia responded well to going behind and drew level through Sporar in the 28th minute. The Sporting Lisbon striker latched onto a long ball from Jan Mlakar and fired a powerful shot past Kasper Schmeichel.

The home side continued to press for a winner in the second half, with Janza going close on several occasions. However, Denmark held on to secure a point that keeps them top of the group.
